Governance Lead

the opportunity

This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in the detail and understands the importance of getting governance right in a growing healthcare business. As Governance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that Home Links Physiotherapy operates within its legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations โ€” and that the systems, policies, and processes that underpin safe, high-quality care are embedded, maintained, and continually improved.

Reporting directly to the Company Director, you will work across the whole organisation, collaborating with clinical and operational colleagues to develop and uphold our governance framework. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in compliance, quality, or governance who wants to take ownership of a broad remit and make a real contribution to a values-driven community health service.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Owning and maintaining the company's policy library โ€” developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures in line with legislation, regulatory guidance, and business need

  • Monitoring policy compliance across the organisation and supporting managers to embed policies effectively in day-to-day practice

  • Leading on information governance, including GDPR compliance, data protection documentation, privacy notices, and subject access requests

  • Maintaining and developing the company's clinical governance framework, including incident reporting, complaints handling, and learning from events

  • Supporting the preparation and management of audits, inspections, and any regulatory submissions

  • Overseeing mandatory training compliance โ€” tracking completion, identifying gaps, and working with managers to resolve them

  • Maintaining accurate records of DBS checks, professional registrations, and other pre-employment and ongoing compliance requirements

  • Supporting the development and rollout of governance documentation as the organisation grows, including franchise and multi-site readiness

  • Reporting governance risks, trends, and recommendations to the Company Director

  • Acting as a point of contact for governance queries from staff across the organisation

What We Offer

  • A home-based, flexible role with autonomy and direct access to the Company Director

  • Regular 1:1 supervision and the opportunity to shape the governance function as the business grows

  • Training relevant to the role funded in line with business need

  • 28 days paid holiday pro-rata inclusive of public holidays, rising with length of service

  • Contributory pension scheme

who we are looking for

  • Experience in a compliance, governance, quality, or information governance role โ€” ideally within a health, care, or regulated service environment

  • Solid working knowledge of GDPR and data protection obligations

  • Ability to write, review, and maintain policies and procedures clearly and accurately

  • Confident working independently, managing multiple workstreams, and meeting deadlines without close supervision

  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365, document management systems, and digital workflows

  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and highly organised with strong written communication skills

  • A collaborative approach โ€” able to engage colleagues across clinical and operational teams on governance matters without being heavy-handed

employment Details

  • Employment is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.

  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an informal conversation with the Company Director, followed by a more formal interview and practical exercise for those taken forward.
